Cyberpunk City was the first bigger scene that was designed and produced at GritWorld. Its purpose was to become an element that was used to drive the development of the engine.
Short after collecting a large variety of references and mood boards, we agreed that we wanted to have a slightly darker scene with the focus on the forward+ renderer, the moving light sources, PBR and the global illumination. Additionally, we aimed to have a scene with a larger scale, so that we could keep an eye on performance of the engine as well.
The scene fulfilled its actual purpose; the engine started to become thing, but it had to wait for its GI integration for a little longer.
